Particularly intriguing within this group are three galaxies interconnected by their gas, a phenomenon suggesting an exchange of material that fuels star formation. Further analysis across different light wavelengths revealed that the central galaxy among these three is undergoing vigorous star formation, likely by drawing gas from its neighboring galaxies. This process hints at a dynamic interplay within galaxy groups, shedding light on the mechanisms that drive or inhibit star formation in such environments.

Dr. Glowacki’s recent work, assisted by ICRAR summer student Jasmine White, points to the continued potential for discoveries using MeerKAT.
