Apple is reportedly preparing for its much-anticipated fall event, rumored to take place on September 10, where the tech giant is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models, along with new versions of AirPods and Apple Watches. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this event will likely continue Apple’s tradition of launching new products on the second Tuesday of September, a schedule the company has adhered to for several years.

The iPhone 16 series is expected to be the main attraction of the event. While the design of the iPhone 16 models is rumored to closely resemble that of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, there will be a notable new feature: a capacitive button on the side of the device. This “Capture Button” is designed to allow users to take photos and videos more easily, providing a dedicated control for capturing moments without needing to navigate through the on-screen camera interface. Assuming Apple follows its usual schedule, the iPhone 16 will be announced on September 10, with sales beginning around September 20. Although Apple has not officially confirmed the event date, Bloomberg’s report suggests that the announcement is imminent, with media invites likely to be sent out within the next week.

In addition to the new Capture Button, the iPhone 16 models are expected to include several significant upgrades. These include improved displays and enhanced camera systems, both of which are likely to be key selling points. The iPhone 16 series will also feature the new A18 chip, which is anticipated to deliver more powerful processing capabilities and enhance Apple’s AI-driven features. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models are rumored to have larger screens than their predecessors, with diagonal sizes increasing to approximately 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively.

Alongside the new iPhones, the event is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 10, which could bring one of the most significant updates to the Apple Watch in recent years. The new watches are rumored to feature larger displays, potentially rivaling the screen size of the Apple Watch Ultra, and thinner cases, marking a considerable design evolution for the smartwatch. Additionally, Apple is expected to release new generations of its entry-level AirPods. For the first time, these new AirPods models are rumored to include noise cancellation features, a premium capability that would make the entry-level AirPods even more appealing to a broader audience.

While the focus of the September event will likely be on the iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and new AirPods, there are also reports that Apple is ramping up internal testing of new Macs featuring M4 chips. However, these new Macs are expected to launch later in the year, likely missing the September timeframe. The introduction of M4-powered Macs will be another significant milestone in Apple’s transition to its own silicon, promising even greater performance and efficiency.

Apple’s upcoming fall event is shaping up to be a pivotal moment for the company, with major updates expected across several of its most popular product lines. The iPhone 16 series, with its new Capture Button and enhanced AI capabilities, is poised to be the centerpiece of the event, while the Apple Watch Series 10 and new AirPods are also expected to make a significant impact. As always, Apple’s ability to combine cutting-edge technology with sleek design will be on full display, setting the stage for another successful product launch cycle.
