Apple is rumored to be making Apple Intelligence a central element of its sales strategy for the upcoming iPhone 16, according to recent tweets from tech journalist Mark Gurman. As anticipation builds for the iPhone 16 event, expected to take place on September 10th, Apple has scheduled mandatory meetings for all Apple Store employees shortly after the launch. These meetings will occur on either the evening of September 12th or the morning of September 13th, depending on the store location.

Gurman pointed out that this scheduling is unusual for Apple, as the company typically holds such meetings on Sundays rather than during the week. The shift suggests that Apple is adopting a different approach for this year’s iPhone rollout, likely to ensure that its retail staff are fully prepared to showcase the new features of the iPhone 16.

In a follow-up tweet, Gurman revealed that Apple has already begun training its retail employees on Apple Intelligence, indicating that this AI-driven suite of features will play a crucial role in the in-store sales pitch for the iPhone 16. While Apple Intelligence won’t be available at the time of the iPhone 16’s launch—having been delayed to iOS 18.1, which is expected to roll out in October—Apple is still focusing heavily on these features as a selling point.

Apple Intelligence is set to include a range of tools and enhancements designed to improve user experience through AI. Among the features launching with iOS 18.1 are Writing Tools, Notification Summaries, and a new Siri interface. More advanced functionalities, such as Image Playground, Genmoji, and integration with ChatGPT, are expected to follow in iOS 18.2 or later updates.

The decision to emphasize Apple Intelligence in the iPhone 16 sales pitch comes as analysts predict that AI capabilities could boost iPhone 16 sales by up to 10 million units. This forecast underlines the growing importance of AI in consumer technology and suggests that Apple is betting on these features to drive demand for its latest device.

As the launch date approaches, the tech community will be watching closely to see how Apple leverages Apple Intelligence to differentiate the iPhone 16 from its predecessors and competitors. With a strong focus on AI, Apple appears to be positioning itself at the forefront of the next wave of smartphone innovation.
