Nothing has finally revealed the Phone 3, its most advanced smartphone to date, positioning the company squarely in the flagship arena. Announced at a launch event in London, the $799 device is a complete reimagining of the company’s design and performance ambitions. With four 50MP cameras, a powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, and a new micro-LED-based Glyph Matrix display, the Phone 3 is designed to compete directly with devices like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 and Google’s Pixel lineup.
A standout feature of the Phone 3 is the all-new Glyph Matrix, a micro-LED display embedded in the top corner of the phone’s rear. Unlike the bright LED light strips from previous Nothing models, this micro-display is meant to cut down on screen time by delivering glanceable info without waking the main screen. It can show app alerts, battery status, contact notifications, and more. You can also interact with the display through Glyph Toys—widget-like functions that include a stopwatch, digital clock, and even mini games like Spin the Bottle. Nothing is releasing a public SDK to allow developers and users to create their own micro-display experiences.
Nothing is also introducing a software feature called Flip to Record, which activates when users long-press the Essential Key and flip the phone over. It begins an audio recording and later generates a transcript and summary, aiming to streamline note-taking and journaling. The Essential Key remains a core feature, launching Nothing’s AI-powered Essential Space app, which gains several new tools in this release.
On the hardware side, the main screen is a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and an eye-searing 4,500 nits of peak brightness—Nothing’s brightest screen yet. The 120Hz adaptive refresh rate rounds out a premium viewing experience.
Photography is another major highlight. The Phone 3 features a triple rear camera setup and a front-facing selfie camera, all equipped with 50MP sensors. Optical image stabilization is included on both the main and periscope lenses. For video, all cameras can shoot in 4K at 60FPS, making the Phone 3 an appealing option for creators.
Under the hood, it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, offering a significant 36% speed boost over the Phone 2’s chip, and an 88% increase in GPU performance. The base model includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the upgraded version bumps that to 16GB and 512GB. A 5,150mAh battery supports 65W wired and 15W wireless charging, with Nothing promising up to 80 hours of usage and a full charge in under an hour with the right adapter.
Out of the box, the Phone 3 runs Android 15 and comes with five years of OS updates and seven years of security patches—one of the most generous software support commitments in the Android world.
Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone 3 begin on July 4, with general availability starting July 15. U.S. pricing starts at $799 for the 12GB model, with the 16GB version available for $899. For the first time, Nothing will sell the phone not only through its website but also on Amazon, expanding its retail reach and aiming to attract a broader customer base.
